Theatre for cultural programmes
Theatre Productions for Local Authorities, Auditoriums, Festivals and Cultural Centres
Theatre has been one of the most important artistic expressions in cultural life since its origins. Its ability to move, entertain, educate and encourage collective reflection makes it an essential element of any cultural programme seeking to engage audiences and create meaningful experiences.
Unlike many other art forms, theatre possesses a unique quality: it happens live and is built through the relationship between performers and audiences. Every performance is unique, every audience reaction influences the experience, and every story comes to life in a different way. This immediacy makes the performing arts one of the most valued cultural offerings for local authorities, auditoriums, theatres, festivals and cultural centres.
Including theatrical productions within a cultural programme makes it possible to reach a wide range of audiences. From family-friendly performances and children’s theatre to productions aimed at adult audiences, theatre offers a remarkable variety of formats, themes and styles capable of enriching any cultural project.
Beyond its artistic value, theatre also plays an important social role. It encourages imagination, stimulates critical thinking, promotes community participation and creates spaces where people can share emotions, ideas and experiences. For this reason, it remains one of the most sought-after disciplines in contemporary cultural programming.
At Xema Music & Theatre, we work with theatrical productions that combine artistic quality, professionalism and a strong ability to connect with audiences. Among the companies we represent is ROW, a theatre company specialising in family productions, musical theatre and performances for adult audiences. Their shows are distinguished by carefully crafted staging, strong performances and a clear commitment to bringing theatre closer to audiences of all ages.

Before booking theatre productions,
get to know me

Xema Soriano, artist manager
I’m Xema Soriano, an artist manager, cultural programmer and the founder of Xema Music & Theatre, a project dedicated to the representation, distribution and booking of performances for auditoriums, theatres, festivals, local authorities and cultural venues across Spain.
My work is centred on building connections between artists, theatre companies and cultural programmers, helping each project find the most suitable venue and audience. Over the years, I have developed a career that combines cultural management with experience in the performing arts sector, giving me a thorough understanding of the needs and expectations of everyone involved in the booking and presentation of live performances.
Through Xema Music & Theatre, I collaborate with theatre companies, artists and cultural projects distinguished by their artistic quality, professionalism and ability to connect with audiences. My goal is to offer carefully selected productions to cultural programmers, auditoriums and local authorities, helping them create meaningful and engaging cultural programmes.
Alongside my work as a representative and distributor of performances, I have also gained experience in cultural programming, contributing to the organisation and coordination of live events. This broader perspective allows me to understand the key elements that make a cultural programme successful: artistic quality, diversity of programming, technical feasibility and, above all, the ability of each production to create a memorable experience for audiences.
I strongly believe that culture should be accessible, inspiring and capable of connecting with people of all ages. For this reason, I approach every project with a philosophy based on trust, collaboration and commitment, supporting both companies and programmers throughout the entire booking process.
Because behind every theatrical production there is far more than a performance. There are months of work, talent, creativity, passion and a shared ambition to create cultural experiences that inspire, move and leave a lasting impression on audiences. My role is to help those stories reach the right stage and find the audience they deserve.
Theatre for Cultural Programmes in Local Authorities
Local authorities play a vital role in promoting and supporting culture within their communities. Through their cultural departments and arts programmes, they organise activities that enrich community life, encourage public participation and provide access to high-quality artistic experiences for people of all ages.
Within these cultural programmes, theatre occupies a particularly important place due to its unique ability to combine entertainment, education and reflection. The performing arts bring stories, values and emotions to audiences in a direct and engaging way, creating shared experiences and strengthening the connection between communities and culture.
Municipal theatre programmes often include a wide variety of productions designed to appeal to different audiences. Family and children’s theatre attracts young people, parents and schools, helping to develop future audiences and encourage cultural engagement from an early age. At the same time, productions aimed at adult audiences enrich the cultural offer of a municipality, providing opportunities for entertainment, emotional engagement and thought-provoking experiences.
One of theatre’s greatest strengths is its adaptability. Performances can be presented as part of regular seasons in municipal theatres and auditoriums, incorporated into cultural festivals, featured in community celebrations and educational programmes, or included in special events during Christmas, local festivities and cultural weeks.
A well-designed theatre programme not only enhances the cultural life of a municipality but also helps strengthen community identity, create opportunities for social interaction and promote access to culture as an essential part of social development.
For this reason, an increasing number of local authorities are investing in professional theatre productions as part of their cultural programming. By selecting performances that combine artistic quality, audience engagement and memorable live experiences, cultural organisers can create diverse, attractive and meaningful programmes that appeal to the whole community.
Cultural Programming for Auditoriums and Theatres
Auditoriums and theatres are essential spaces for developing high-quality and sustainable cultural programmes. Thanks to their technical and staging capabilities, they allow audiences to fully enjoy the theatrical experience, fostering a deeper connection between performers and spectators.
Theatre programming in these venues requires a careful selection of productions capable of meeting the expectations of increasingly diverse audiences. Cultural programmers look for performances that combine artistic quality, audience appeal and the ability to enrich the cultural offer of their communities.
Family theatre productions help attract new audiences and encourage an interest in the performing arts from an early age, while productions aimed at adult audiences provide greater variety and contribute to building balanced theatre seasons. This combination is essential for creating dynamic programmes that maintain audience interest throughout the year.
In addition, auditoriums and theatres play a key role in promoting culture, becoming gathering places where people can share stories, emotions and experiences. For this reason, the inclusion of high-quality theatrical productions not only adds artistic value to a programme but also helps strengthen the relationship between cultural venues and their communities.
Excellence in cultural programming
Excellence in cultural programming goes far beyond simply booking performances. It involves creating a coherent and balanced artistic programme that responds to the interests and expectations of different audiences while consistently maintaining a high standard of quality.
In theatre, this excellence is reflected in the selection of professional companies, the quality of performances, the strength of the scripts, the creativity of the staging and the ability of each production to generate emotions and memorable experiences. A great theatrical production does more than entertain; it encourages reflection, stimulates the imagination and leaves a lasting impression on its audience.
Managers of auditoriums, theatres, festivals and local authority cultural programmes understand that successful cultural programming is built through a combination of diverse and complementary productions. Bringing together family shows, comedies, performances for adult audiences and productions inspired by great stories makes it possible to reach different audiences and enrich the cultural life of a community.
At Xema Music & Theatre, we work with companies that share this commitment to artistic excellence and audience engagement. Our goal is to provide cultural programmers with access to theatrical productions distinguished by their professionalism, stage quality and ability to connect with audiences of all ages.
Because the quality of a cultural programme is not measured solely by the number of events it presents, but by the ability of each production to inspire, move and transform culture into a truly meaningful experience.
